大马投资发展局（MIDA）计划在接下来的 10 年时间里面，累积对 Electric Vehicle 电动车领域展开总额高达 RM 400 亿的投资以扶持相关产业的发展，同时政府也希望 Proton 和 Perodua 能够推出价格更入门的电动车款帮助普及化电车，并计划今年内在全马建设 3,000 座充电站！
