根据最新一期Nikkei Asian Review（日经新闻），日本前七大车厂于2017年的总研发支出费用创下新高，高达2.85万亿日元，而主要支出都用于应对日益严格的全球汽车排废标准，以及研发目前最夯的自动驾驶技术上。当中日本龙头老大 Toyota 在研发预算上还是更连续四年都维持设在1万亿日元！
