Yamaha在东京车展上发布了新的概念跑车Sports Ride Concept coupe以仅有750kg的净车重震惊了现场所有人，但是在引擎参数上完全没有详细的资料所以很多人都认为这可能只是一个不会推出的概念车，但是接着Yamaha和Gordon Murray Design发布了号称全球第一款评价碳纤维底盘，所以代表着Yamaha这次是玩真的了。。。
