一般人对于 Proton 的印象就是油耗高，但是实际上在 Proton 为旗下的引擎导入 VVT 技术后这个情况已经大大改善。为了进一步证实 Proton 的车款油耗不高，因此 Proton 举办了 Proton 1 Tank Adventure ，而在活动中绝大部分的参赛车款满缸燃油都可以行驶超过600 km！
