警方配合农历新年，特从2月12至26日展开为期15天的“安全行动6”，以减少车祸发生率和公路死亡率，而这期间，警方共动员13,186名警察和警官值勤。

武吉阿曼交警主任拿督莫哈末弗安指出，死者当中，主要还是摩哆骑士或乘客，共有92人（61%），其次为轿车司机和乘客，共有36人（24%）。
